Let me start off by saying, I apologize to anyone offended by this post.
I am fed up with the perceived value of black people and people of color in general. I woke on this morning and logged on the internet to learn once again another UNARMED TEEN was gunned down by the police. Happy Sunday. This was enough to make me want to go back to bed and try again tomorrow.
I don’t understand how this can keep on happening. It never happens to a white teen. It can’t be a coincidence. And yet, no one in the government seems to be doing anything about. Its a consistent reminder that black people have to be on guard every day because the police may just kill you for being who you are. It doesn’t matter that black people created currency, the university, built America to what it is today. We are still devalued and slaughtered in our own communities.
Now that I’ve gotten that out, lets talk about how the white washing of black culture is partly, our fault. Its not entirely our fault but we play a role in it. Lets start with the Exodus movie. Christian Bale, a white man will be playing Moses, a historically black man. Everyone knows Moses was black but apparently Ridley Scott’s vision differs from reality. Not only are the main cast played by white people, but black people make up the slaves and thieves in this movie. The Aaliyah movie is being directed by a old white man who’s not in touch with RnB culture. The only black people involved with the James Brown Biopic are the actors. The entire crew, writers and producers…all white. I’m so tired of this overtly subliminal messaging that black people are nothing but beggars and thieves. We created civilization! I say its partly our fault because black people have been willing to play the role of the thief and the whore the get ahead. Why don’t we say no to demeaning roles and the perpetuation of deadly stereotypes? Why haven’t we tried harder to create our own film funds, studios, networks? We have the talent, we have the money and every reason to do it. Where are the black media collectives? Why aren’t we being represented worldwide? Where is our distribution? Is Magic the only black person with some theaters? Educate me!
It may sound like I’m just ranting but I’m so fed up at this point. And as a young producer I am working hard to change the world around me, but I can’t do it alone. We have to wok hard as a society to create entertainment that is inclusive and accurately reflects the real world. If the top 10 highest grossing black actors put in 100k they could make an indie film and distribute it WORLDWIDE!
Maybe I missed something. I just don’t see how this can keep happening after everything we’ve already been though.

Déjame empezar diciendo, pido disculpas a nadie ofendido por este post.
Estoy harto con el valor percibido de los negros y gente de color en general. Me desperté esta mañana y ha iniciado sesión en internet para aprender nuevamente otro adolescente desarmado fue baleado por la policía. Domingo feliz. Esto fue suficiente para hacerme volver a la cama y vuelva mañana.
No entiendo cómo esto puede seguir ocurriendo. Nunca le sucede a un adolescente blanco. No puede ser una coincidencia. Y sin embargo, nadie en el gobierno parece estar haciendo nada sobre. Su un constante recordatorio de que los negros tienen que estar en guardia todos los días porque la policía puede matarte por ser quien eres. No importa que la gente negra creada la moneda, la Universidad, construido a América a lo que es hoy. Todavía estamos devaluados y sacrificados en nuestras propias comunidades.
Ahora que ya tengo salir, permite hablar de cómo el blanco lavado de cultura negra en parte, es culpa nuestra. No enteramente culpa nuestra sino desempeñan un papel en él. Permite comenzar con la película Éxodo. Christian Bale, un hombre blanco jugará a Moses, un hombre negro históricamente. Todos saben que Moisés era negro pero aparentemente visión de Ridley Scott difiere de la realidad. No sólo son el elenco principal interpretado por los blancos, pero los negros conforman los esclavos y los ladrones en esta película. Estoy tan cansado de este mensajes subliminales abiertamente que los negros son nada más que los mendigos y ladrones. Hemos creado la civilización! Digo su en parte es culpa nuestra porque los negros han estado dispuestos a desempeñar el papel de la puta y el ladrón el conseguir adelante. ¿Por qué no decimos no a degradante roles y la perpetuación de los estereotipos mortales? ¿Por qué no hemos probado más duro crear nuestros propios fondos de la película, estudios, redes? Tenemos el talento, tenemos el dinero y todas las razones para hacerlo. ¿Dónde están los colectivos de medios negro? ¿Por qué no estamos siendo representados en todo el mundo? ¿Dónde está nuestro centro de distribución? ¿Magia es la persona sólo negra con algunas salas? Enseñame!
Puede sonar como que sólo estoy delirando pero estoy tan harto en este punto. Y como un joven productor estoy trabajando duro para cambiar el mundo a mi alrededor, pero no puedo hacerlo solo. Tenemos al wok duro como sociedad para crear entretenimiento que es incluyente y refleja con precisión el mundo real. Si pongo el top 10 más taquillera actores negros en 100k podrían hacer una película independiente y distribuirlo en todo el mundo!
Tal vez me perdí algo. No veo cómo esto puede seguir pasando después de todo lo que ya hemos aunque.
