I’m feeling good. I felt like the floodgates are open and I have so many ideas and solutions to my challenges. A couple weeks ago I spoke to a good friend of mine and he said I needed to figure out why things weren’t working for me.
People weren’t donating to my indiegogo and I just felt really negative. Now I’ve found a new way to get to my financial goal and I feel more positive and I have so many great ideas for my natural hair documentary. I think its because I let go of so much pride and allowed myself to become vulnerable. This allowed me to be more authentic and free. So here are the lessons I’ve learned 7 months in LA:
1. People are Fickle
People are really weird. One minute you think you’ve made a friend and the next you feel awkward for calling. It’s normal. Just stick the non-pretnitious peeps. Who wants all that awkwardness anyway?
2. In Hollywood you have to create the energy
In New York, you step outside and the city is already moving. In California, you have to MAKE it move. You have to make your own work if you want to work. Especially if you are a woman of color. That’s why I’m producing my own projects and guess what? I’m getting noticed by people I look up to. 🙂
3.Your Family May Disappoint You
This hurts. You think you’re family will support you no matter what. Not true. Sometimes they’re the main ones opposing your dreams. I always tried to justify why some people in my family acted they way they did and I had to acknowledge the hard facts. Don’t be surprised and don’t be a recluse. You got this!
4. You Have Everything You Need Inside of You
All the solutions to the challenges you face are within you. Be resourceful and find them!
5. Following Your Dreams Inspires Others and you’re Brave Because of it
Living your dream inspires others to live theirs, even when you stumble. They’re still looking up to you because you took the leap! Don’t be surprised when total strangers tell you you’re inspiring. You are!

Me estoy sintiendo bien. Sentí que las puertas están abiertas y tengo muchas ideas y soluciones a mis retos. Hace un par de semanas hablé con un buen amigo mío y me dijo que debía averiguar por qué las cosas no funcionaban para mí.
La gente no dona a mi indiegogo y me sentí muy negativo. Ahora he encontrado una nueva forma de llegar a mi meta financiera y me siento más positiva y tengo muchas buenas ideas para mi documental de pelo natural. Creo que su porque suelta mucho orgullo y permití que se vuelven vulnerables. Esto me ha permitido ser más auténtico y libre. Así que aquí están las lecciones que he aprendido 7 meses en LA:
1. las personas son lnconstante
Gente es muy rara. Un minuto crees que has hecho un amigo y el siguiente el se siente incómodo para llamar. Es normal. Sigue la gente non-pretnitious. ¿Quién quiere toda esa incomodidad de todos modos?
2. en Hollywood tienes que crear la energía
En Nueva York, vamos afuera y la ciudad ya se está moviendo. En California, usted tiene que hacer que se mueva. Tienes que hacer tu propio trabajo si quieres trabajar. Especialmente si usted es una mujer de color. ¿Es por eso estoy produciendo mis propios proyectos y adivina qué? Estoy que lo noten por miro a la gente. 🙂
3 tu familia puede decepcionarle
Esto me duele. ¿Crees que eres familia te apoyará pase lo que pase. No es cierto. A veces son los principales oponerse a tus sueños. Siempre traté de justificar por qué algunas personas de mi familia actuado así lo hicieron y tuve que reconocer los hechos. No te sorprendas y no ser un recluso. Tienes esto!
4. tienes todo lo que tienes dentro de ti
Todas las soluciones a los retos que enfrenta están dentro de ti. Ser ingenioso y encontrarlos!
5. tras tus sueños inspiran a otros y eres valiente por ello
Vive tu sueño inspira a otros a vivir de ellos, incluso cuando te tropiezas. Todavía miran para arriba para usted porque tomaste el salto! No se sorprenda cuando desconocidos decirte que eres inspirador. ¡ Eres!
